Mr Kenneth Maclean, 4 New Holdings, Leurbost, has been informed by the
Minister of War Transport that his son, Murdo, who has been missing at
sea for some time, is now reported missing, believed killed, whilst on
service with the Merchant Navy. Lord Leathers states that he has added
Murdo's name to the Merchant Navy Roll of Honour, and he expresses
admiration for the services which he rendered and sympathy with the
family in their bereavement. "Your son worthily upheld the noble
traditions of the service, and I may perhaps hope that the realisation
of this fact will help soften the heavy blow which has fallen upon you",
he adds.
