News has been received that Donald Chapman, youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs Donald Chapman, Sandwickhill, Stornoway, is presumed to have lost his life at sea. Mr Chapman, who was aged 53, started his life as a clerk with Messrs David Macbrayne at Stornoway. Later he went to sea and entered the service of the Wilson Line, Hull. From that time he has been sailing regularly and he has not been much in Lewis. His home latterly was in Devonport, and he leaves a widow and one child, He is also survived bytwo half-sisters - Mrs Bain, Stornoway and Mrs Mackenzie, Glasgow, and three half brothers - Donald in Stornoway and Angus and William in Glasgow.
